The conference focused on the stigma attached to drug users, the importance of human life and the barriers that prevent us reducing the harms associated with drug and alcohol use. We created a custom end paper pattern cropping the Melbourne grid within blood-like cellular forms as a metaphor for the debate. IDENTITY & WEBSITE 2011 An identity system and website developed for a new private design school. The school was founded in 2011 by my friend and once teacher Veronica Grow here in Melbourne. The school's philosophy, as well as their physical location, evoke a Modernist/Bauhaus ideal. It was fitting then to reflect this through geometric lettering and a palette of primary colours. The bold grid lines pick up on the beautiful post war window frames that greet you on site. A long name provided challenges, but also creative opportunities. The direction taken centred around a flexible copy writing approach and a typographic system for its presentation. The Old and New offered a simple juxtaposition. The system was designed to constantly evolve and provide a framework in which the folks at Old School and their students could grow and explore. The empty segment of the logo invites each student to make their experience at Old School whatever they want it to be.
